Prepare to be Energized with Online Education Employment

It must take some very serious effort for a traditional adjunct instructor working on a physical college campus to crawl out of bed every morning after realizing that another long day teaching college students in a physical college class will not yield enough income to actually pay all the bills. However, that is exactly the scenario that must be faced every day by individuals with earned graduate degrees, a master’s degree or doctorate degree, that have chosen to teach college students aren’t adjunct basis. The extremely low pay experienced by traditional adjunct college professors is the stuff of legend now and there does not seem to be any fiscal relief in sight as the faculty budgets of physical college classrooms are being reduced on almost a weekly basis.

Granted, there is enormous intellectual satisfaction in teaching university level material to the returning college students, and there is no shortage of college students these days with the unemployment rate refusing to recede and many people returning to school in order to finish their college degrees or to begin earning one for the first time. Fortunately, distance education technology is in full force today and as a result a college instructor working on adjunct basis should prepare to be energized with online education employment.

There is probably little that could excite a college instructor more then to receive multiple paychecks every month from teaching online with accredited online bachelor degree programs and accredited online master degree programs, but that is exactly what can happen if an online adjunct instructor learns how to find online college courses in order to fill an online schedule with ten to twelve online classes. In fact, depending on the amount the individual postsecondary academic institution pays to teach an individual online college course it may only be necessary to have six to eight online courses in the online teaching schedule in order to earn enough money to qualify as a decent living.

Further, the online adjunct income stream can be generated with an inexpensive personal computer. In addition to the better-than-average money paid for teaching online since it is possible to have two to four times as many classes as is possible on a physical college or university campus, the online adjunct professor has the personal freedom to teach new and returning college students enrolled in online college programs from practically any spot on the planet.
While for-profit colleges offer their students a health administration degree online, an online MBA degree or a hotel management degree online have led the way in the last decade in terms of making distance education a viable path for earning a college degree, traditional four-year universities, community colleges and state colleges are quickly deploying their own online college reprograms. Ultimately, there will not be an academic discipline that will not be represented by an online degree program.

This is all very good news for individuals with earned graduate degrees that want to teach college students are living, but it is important to understand the superior technical skills are required to be successful as an online adjunct instructor. However, the computer skills required by teaching online can be learned and when they are mastered the online adjunct instructor should be prepared to be energized with online education employment.
